Humans: Natives of the Great Isle
Use the racial traits of the standard Pathfinder human in the CRB.
The Great Isle is the native home to the Humans of Marassa. They tend to be pale of skin, with hair colors ranging from a dirty blond to black. Their closeness to wolves, both in the nobles ability to take on the shape of wolves and the massive wolf populations on the great isle have caused them to revere the traits of wolves. Humans generally see themselves as one giant pack controlled by the Alpha, leader of the humans. The Humans started empire building about 500 years ago by first taking control of The Five Daughters, followed shortly by taking control of the The Hill-Shire. After securing these the nations they then pushed into The South Forest and the Southern Grass Sea taking the first through diplomacy and the second by force.
- Nobility: The Human nobility is built up around those who are natural Lycanthropes. To even be considered a part of the noble class your family must have been natural lycans for at least two generations. To have your family be inducted into the nobility one must petition the court of nobles and provide documentation of when your family became natural lycans, that your family is beholden to no other men, and that they have the means to contribute to the noble coffers.
- Royalty: The five human royal families, and the high preists of the wolf gods, are all natural lycans with the animal form of a dire wolf. Unlike with the regular form of lycanthropy the dire lycanthropy can only be given to someone already afflicted with regular lycanthropy and only in the temple to the wolf gods.
- Beast-Touched Humans: As far as anybody is aware only humans are able to be Wolf Beast-Touched. All but the Royals and the high priests of the wolf gods Aurelia, Aurelianus, and Cestus have the animal forms of a regular wolf with fur and similar markings the same as their hair. The royals and high priests have a dire wolf animal form.
- Gods & Religion:
|Mother wolf, patron deity of mothers, children, the home, etc.||Head of the pack, Patron deity of the royal families, the nobles, soldiers, etc.||The Lone wolf, Patron deity of exiles, criminals, and evil humans|
As the two main deities of the Empire Aurelia and Aurelianus have temples all over the empire, with their high priests residing in Dandriss.
Worship of Cestus is outlawed in the empire but many still worship him at secret shrines, despite life in prison or death being the punishments for worshiping him.
